Travel – USA – Tours – Georgia On My Mind

The themes of trip were (a) the Blues and Blind Willie McTell, (b) Civil Rights, (c) American Literature and (d) the Undergound Railroad Movement, taking in Georgia, South Carolina, Tennessee and Alabama. The trip was for 26 days in October 2009, staying at eight locations:

Atlanta, Georgia – for Martin Luther King National Historic Park

Macon, Georgia – for Downtown Macon, Tubman African American Museum and Georgia Music Hall of Fame

Savannah, Georgia – for Downtown Savannah, Statesboro, Thompson, and Charleston, North Carolina

Greenwood, South Carolina – for Savannah River Scenic area

Cleveland, Georgia – for Chattahoochie National Forest and Helen, Georgia

Chattanooga, Tennessee – for Downtown Chattanooga, Lookout Mountain and Lookout Mountain Battlefields

Birmingham, Alabama – for Downtown Birmingham and Sloss Furnaces National Historic Site

Montgomery, Alabama – for Downtown Montgomery and Columbus
